I like good conversation, music, fly fishing, long distance driving, and thinking about human relationships in the mediated age. I started this blog as a place for comment on the flow of sense and nonsense about how modern relationships work, about how technology is shaping and is shaped by our desire to connect, and about, well, whatever amuses or appalls me. I am a professor, after all. I can’t help myself. In my day job at the University of Washington I teach and do research on social relationships and networks. I am currently Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Communication.
